Versatile™ Laparoscopic Dissection System Minimize

Developed by a surgeon for surgeons, the Versatile™ Laparoscopic Dissection System is built around a patented blunt dissection instrument that can provide safe and effective dissection on the most delicate tissues. Combined with the other system elements, procedures can be completed in less operative time and with less surgeon fatique. Instrument exchange is virtually eliminated.

The system includes a dissection instrument, a suction/irrigator and an electrosurgical instrument – all customized to work together with one-handed operation.

The patented dissection element of the system delivers the same safe and effective tissue separation familiar in open surgery with a peanut or Kittner.  The Versatile™ dissector can be used through standard trocars – no need for specialized access devices. The ergonomic integration of the system elements reduces hand fatigue.  And, the system elements can be used as an integrated surgical tool or as individual components

Dr. Christoudias, the developer of this technology, is a general surgeon, with a special interest in laparoscopic surgery. He has extensive experience in advanced laparoscopic procedures, which he has been performing since 1990. He holds 12 US patents and four more patents are pending.

This system is ideal for any laparoscopic procedure that can benefit from blunt dissection and/or retraction, including, but not limited to:

·          Cholecystectomy

·          Herniorrhaphy

·          Hysterectomy/ oophorectomy

·          Lysis of adhesions

·          Appendectomies

·          Diagnostic laparoscopy

·          Lymph node dissection

·          Small bowel obstruction

·          Nissen fundoplication

·          Thoracic procedures

·          Prostatectomy

Irrigation/Aspiration Minimize

The Versatile™ dissector can also be used with the Allied Surgical Irrigation set. This laparoscopic irrigation and suction set allows the user to have control of dissection, irrigation, suction, electrocautery, and smoke evacuation in one hand (no foot pedal necessary). This eliminates the need for repeated instrument exchanges making surgery safer and faster. Adapters are also available to incorporate the Versatile™ dissector into your current laparoscopic irrigation/suction instrument.
